Health Protocol Monitored During Sacrificial Animal Slaughtering in South Thousand Islands Sub-district

South Thousand Islands Sub-district Head, Angga Saputra monitored sacrificial animals (qurban) slaughtering in three urban villages to ensure that health protocol was implemented well

Sacrificial animals slaughtering is carried out in open space by implementing health protocol

On Eid al-Adha 1442 Hijri, there were 78 sacrificial animals in South Thousand Islands Sub-district consisting of 26 cows, 39 goats, and 13 sheep.

In detail, there were 37 sacrificial animals in Tidung Island Urban Village, 22 sacrificial animals in Untung Jawa Island Urban Village, and 19 sacrificial animals in Pari Island Urban Village.

"Sacrificial animals slaughtering is carried out in open space by implementing health protocol. Residents are also prohibited from gathering to witness sacrificial animals slaughtering," he conveyed, Tuesday (7/20).

According to him, sacrificial animals slaughterers should wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and qurban committee helped to avoid crowds in the location to prevent COVID-19 transmission.

"Slaughtering in each locations is monitored by local PPKM Command Post officers and health team from Thousand Islands Maritime Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency to check whether sacrificial meat is safe for consumption or not," he explained.

The committee, he added, will distribute sacrificial meat using eco-friendly containers provided by Thousand Islands Environment (LH) Sub-agency to RT/RW administrators based on data.

"Residents are urged to stay at home, later committee will distribute sacrificial meat door-to-door," he mentioned.

For information, slaughtering area is located in Tidung Island Urban Village, behind Sports Center (GOR) and RT 02/03 Kampung Baru field; Untung Jawa Island, behind SKKT building; and Pari Island Urban Village, in Bukit Matahari.
